C ya!

Good documentation of the place that could be gone in some years. The pictures are very represantative as I think.
Good work !

The playground is actually named for the two streets around it, Bush and Clinton Streets. Nice coincidence, though.

Cool shots. Love the red building against the blue sky, and the "Bill Clinton Playground"

Welcome back! Just checked back after MONTHS of desperation w/o satan's laundromat updates, only to find you post again at long last. I'm thrilled. Hope you'll be around for good from now on.

I used to live at 105 luquer street and HAD to spell the name everytime! Between Hicks & Henry street. The BQE was my alarm clock.

It was named for a revolutionary war hero peter luquer and I met a lot of people who they have made movies about, lol!

I SO miss NYC. CA is like jello. gurgle, gurgle.

I lived in Redhook for about 20 years and my Mom just recently passed away and lived in Redhook. I love the pics posted. There used to be a bar/social club on Columbia and Lorraine owned at one time by a man named Nick - who was my Mothers' employer.

And who amongst us will ever forget the time a transvestite was caught using the facilities at red hook pool in 1968.5000 puerto rican voices yelling-"FAGGOT!!!FAGGOT!!!"5000 puerto rican voices yelling as one!!!A masterpiece

Posted by: c.brady at March 25, 2007 03:39 PM

I've never been there (brooklyn), but it seems very horrible!

Posted by: Digital Photography at April 18, 2007 04:05 AM

hmmmmm... not as horrible as we'd like, at least not in ways that are INTERESTING. ("luxury condos coming soon" will kill us all.)

Posted by: whowalkinbrooklyn at June 11, 2007 01:04 PM

you feed my hunger of brooklyn pictures.
Ikea sucks.

If I made a pros/cons list of life, your photos are on pros.

Just moved to Red Hook and it has rented room in my heart. I don't really know anyone but would like to come out and play... is anyone still lingering here?

Love the pics, Love Red Hook...I remember when that boat was there...I rode my bike down to see it from Carrol Gardens. Remember all the tourists who we're all pissed that they got let off there? Ha Ha Suckers!

The new IKEA is up already and I fucking hate it.
They made a free shuttle bus to go to the Ikea and yet people STILL wait and take the b77.

"Does this bus go to Ikea"
Ughhh if one more person asks me this I think I will be on the 11pm news!
