San Francisco
Love the rabbit picture.
I wonder what "umbrellas" really are.
I love the grammar nazi one. I am acutally reading a punctuation booked titled,"Eats, Shoots, and Leaves" (The title pertainint to the definition of a panda)
feck i miss living in san francisco - damn your [beautiful] christmas-carol-esque hauntings
"Quiet Through Tunnel" is telling you not to honk in the tunnel. For some reason, people in SF think it's fun to honk in tunnels. (Try driving through the tunnel in the Presidio on CA-1 -- everyone is honking there.)
Does anyone know what SPB stands for?
Quotes always make me think of the phrase "so-called" when they are used inappropriately. I don't think those so-called umbrellas are fooling anyone.
The very first shot with the aura in the sky was fabulous. Hope that's what I was meant to see, or this monitor is really on the blink. Does anyone know how or where the honking thru tunnels phenomenon began? It's not just in San Fran...
Andy, if you look, the P is the Playboy Bunny sign. My guess would be Super Playboy Bunny.
Honking in tunnels is a man thing...we never grow up.
Sorry to be a pedant but, ::c:: (commenting above), make sure you read the book from cover to cover, then learn to use a spellchecker.
"acutally"
"booked"
"pertainint"
Nazi, and Panda should also be capitalised.
If English is not your first language, then please accept my apologies.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ... That Robo-Like Bunny Rabbit with a Huge Peker... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... too Funny! It's Cool!
...Neat! I love your blog, found it by accident. Check in pretty regularly. What fun to see your pics of SF--my hometown and residence. Cool!
Happy New Year!!! I have you on my blogroll. You've been there for a long time. Over a year. Thanks for 2005. Looking forward to 2006.
Found your blog on vote for Best blogs. I have spent two weeks looking at your pictures and reading the comments. Thanks for the great pictures of NYC, NJ cities, the west coast, Hawaii and Japan. I am looking forward to more great posts in 2006. Hurry up with them as I am 70 years old and might not be here that much longer. Ha ha -- just mentioned my age because I want to say that when I was a kid in the 40's my sister and I used to beg our father to blow his horn in tunnels. Since my sister begged too I guess it's not only a guy thing.
I was raised in NJ ten miles west of NYC. We could see the Empire State Building from our farm and I went to the NYC markets with my father three or four times a week, winter and summer. Took the ferry across the river from Jersey City.
really a beautiful photolog! Good luck and happy new year from italy.
SPB stands for Southern Pacific Building. Great blog by the way.
Mick in the u.k. Sorry this annoys you. English is my first language, but since you understood my comment and I am not writing a thesis here, I think that my not using spellchecker will not send me to hell. Hmm should hell be capitalized? Is capitalized spelled correctly or should it be capitalised??? Since I can get all my grammer corrections here, from you, I suppose that'll save me the trouble of being literate and reading the book?!
We have a similar eye.
I'm so happy to see SF pictures as I am going there on my spring break! Now I'm really excited...! THanks!
I love your photoblog, a few weeks ago i looked through all of your photos (since march 2003) and wow. Your photography is great!
::c::
Get a sense of humour.
You didn't even notice MY grammatical mistakes.
BTW it's capitalise with an 's' in UK English.
Mick- I will be the first to apologize. I was having a bad day and liek to think of myself as well-versed when needed.
But I owe a bigger apology to Mike at Satan's Laundromat. I shoud not have brought it here.
Beautiful work by the way!!!
you will all BURN IN HELL.
::C::
No problem...I was being a prick really (I thought it was funny).
Enjoy the pics.
Jayjay:
Have a nice day.
Please sign the on-line petition against the British Muslim terrorists who were on the streets of London yesterday.
Muslim signatories especially welcome.

I saw all those Muslim fellas carrying on when I was in London over the weekend...Trafalgar Sq. was swamped.

Dang, i'm missing mike's stuff. I'm like.. having withdrawls. I'm going to be opening up a new photoblog based on the decay of old northwest US mining towns.. ghost towns.. abandonded houses/cities/old mines, etc. I hope i can take photos as well as mike... i'm nervous!

Odd saying this about a website, but I actually feel a little sad that SL has all but gone away :(

I emailed Joe at joe's NYC to see if he knew where he is. Apparently he's very busy with work and not dead.
Good to know. A lot of worries, around...
I know I'M still worried. I used to come on here every Friday to check Mike's new stuff, and now i just come home from work and curl up in the fetal postion and cry.. I hope he gets un-busy soon....
Have a feelin he is workin on a brand new site...its gonna be rad...u'll see...lol
THANX! :-)
Impresive work love the site!the pictures are sublime ate least!
Cuious as to where the "tunnel sign" picture is located taken through the bus window, any hints as in cross streets or address?
That's the Stockton tunnel south of Chinatown.
SPB stands for Silly Pink Bunnies. Seriously:www.sillypinkbunnies.com
Golden gate (first picture) is always the number 1 bridge all over the world (at me).
I like the misuse of quotation marks in the "umbrellas" sign.
Beautiful shots.
Yeah what's the deal with the "umbrellas"? Did they really sell something else or what?
