"Quiet Through Tunnel" is telling you not to honk in the tunnel. For some reason, people in SF think it's fun to honk in tunnels. (Try driving through the tunnel in the Presidio on CA-1 -- everyone is honking there.)
Does anyone know what SPB stands for?

Quotes always make me think of the phrase "so-called" when they are used inappropriately. I don't think those so-called umbrellas are fooling anyone.

The very first shot with the aura in the sky was fabulous. Hope that's what I was meant to see, or this monitor is really on the blink. Does anyone know how or where the honking thru tunnels phenomenon began? It's not just in San Fran...

Found your blog on vote for Best blogs. I have spent two weeks looking at your pictures and reading the comments. Thanks for the great pictures of NYC, NJ cities, the west coast, Hawaii and Japan. I am looking forward to more great posts in 2006. Hurry up with them as I am 70 years old and might not be here that much longer. Ha ha -- just mentioned my age because I want to say that when I was a kid in the 40's my sister and I used to beg our father to blow his horn in tunnels. Since my sister begged too I guess it's not only a guy thing.
I was raised in NJ ten miles west of NYC. We could see the Empire State Building from our farm and I went to the NYC markets with my father three or four times a week, winter and summer. Took the ferry across the river from Jersey City.

English is my first language, but since you understood my comment and I am not writing a thesis here, I think that my not using spellchecker will not send me to hell. Hmm should hell be capitalized? Is capitalized spelled correctly or should it be capitalised??? Since I can get all my grammer corrections here, from you, I suppose that'll save me the trouble of being literate and reading the book?!
