Danger oncoming traffic is awesome.

i love that crossover bridge between the buildings. that's on staple street off jay street i believe. there's still some quiet, rustic sights in tribeca left that have haven't been taken over.

Liberty fades
while slick
business brushes
up electricity's
quest to win stars
and scale tall buildings
in a single leap.
Pretty escapes and
industrial bridges
can't help you.
Speak no more
of those old firehouses
of those silent stripes
and pale stars,
of those forgotten heroes.
Turn away from
those pictures and words -
they can't warn you
of the oncoming fires
of the dangerous paths.
they can't tell you
where to go
to be free
from the heat.

I'm looking for a laundromat in the neighborhood -- the last time I went to one my mattress pad (which was brand new) came out dirtier than when I brought it in!
