I used to visit someone in that nursing home over there. Thanks for the little memory here.

It looks a lot more creepy and haunted through your lens than I remember it being growing up not too far away... very cool.

I just discovered your site yesterday and I love it. I've lived in Brooklyn and Queens, and I really miss the city (although I'm only 20 minutes away in Westchester.) You've got a great eye for all the weird angles and randomly placed objects, not to mention the accidental poetry that shows up on signs, etc. Keep it up!

Nice shot of the Vermont Country Shop (did I get that right? It's been a while since I've been down on Henry Street. Lex has some interesting info on that place and the guy who owns it.

As long as you're in Brooklyn Heights, how's about a quick trip to the fenced off Playground off the promenade?

nice! the title struck me right away because a friend and i once tried making names out of local street names, and Henry Hicks was one of them.

i think my favorite was Douglass Degraw.

Lived in the Heights back in the mid 60s.The hotels Bossert and St.George were utter dumps, especially that one on Montague whose name I cant recall now.Can you?

Ack - you took photographs on both sides of my appartment, of two things I ponder constantly - the abandoned store and the social club...nicely done.

Thanks for this too wierd photo site. I thought it was strange that when I was drafted into the U S Army that my service # was 56-666- 703. Strange, but true. The # 666 is given to the coming anti Christ ( not Satan, his # may be 555 ) This person is certainly no one that I know, but will probably be of Dan. Jesus saves. HH
