The bunny building makes me think of "Donnie Darko", but the Silk_Ribbons one makes me wistful - think of the girls that would save their pennies to go there to buy pretty things for their hair :-)

Churches with neon lights are always a bit funny and strange to me. Very nice.

The Bunny font and bunny head bear a resemblance to a postcard I have that's a reproduction of an ad from the early 1900s. It's an ad for Bunny brand "Louisiana Porto [sic] Rican Yams" It's got a picture of a rather stern looking bunny about to eat a yam "packed by Ayron G. Boudreau, Sunset, LA." Maybe they had a distributor in NY?

Doubtful; the Bunny was a theater.

Ayron G. Boudreau isn't a very Porto Rican name. Maybe that's why he couldn't spell it.

Hey! I'm not sure how I stumbled across this website, but have been lurking around for about a month now! You're stuff is great! I'm wondering....have you ever encountered any crazy scenarios while shooting in some of these neighborhoods or subways? Some of these places look pretty ghetto and I'd love to explore Phoenix, where I live, like you do but would be a little worried for my safety.

Puerto Rico was frequently spelled "Porto" on maps in the early 20th Century and earlier. Why, I dunno.

Looks a lot like the older parts of early Los Angeles county suburbia: Whittier, Pasadena, Covena, Santa Ana. We live in a small world
