nassio/empty: Amsterdams

11/21/04

I've been lucky to be able to spend some time the past year in both New York and Amsterdam and I see them as sister cities. The buildings on the left, in Old Amsterdam, were finished in 1723. The one on the right, New Amsterdam, I'm assuming was finished some years later.

Today's guest photographer: Sely Friday of nassio/empty.

Two Dutch guys (one in NYC, one in NL) used to run a site entirely dedicated to this thing, nycasd.com. Unfortunately, it's offline now.

Nice contrast. I posted this a couple months back - taken across from the shot on the right.

From what angle were those pictures taken? Or is each one actually two pictures seamed together? Beautiful shots, nonetheless.

I love the narrow side-by-side format -- and each photo stands on its own.
