Mile 8, Brooklyn. Rion's shots of the finish line here and here.
I really like some of those faces. Nice moments to capture.
Thanks for the photos and link, Mike! As I was volunteering (with the 72 UPS trucks, giving marathoners their bags and food and water after the finish), I couldn't take photos, but got to see everyone pass by after the finish. So now I know a little more of what to expect when I run this thing next year.
The fast runners seemed to be in pretty good shape after they finished - they all looked relaxed, and it seemed like they could go a bit further or start partying if they liked. It was the 4 hour and 5 hour and beyond folks who were starting to get really dazed and confused. But everyone was so happy and relieved, and it was a beautiful day to be there in Central Park.
I think I remember a couple of the people in Rion's shots passing by our truck. But there were so many people, especially around 3-4 hours. It must have been so much fun to run.
