Pleasant Avenue, East Harlem
My old friend Matt Haber, now at the Village Voice, speaks to photologgers about the proposed ban on subway photography. Unsurprisingly, we all oppose it. There's also a forbidden-photography contest, with prizes!
great as always!
what if some crackpot gets on board the subway with the front end of a Nissan? Is it a crime to want a photo of that?
Fight the good fight.
what camera[s] do you use?
impressed as always.
Canon S400. Thanks.
mike -- I drove around BAM the other day and spotted your logo satan's laundromat -- it was like spotting a brooklyn landmark!
Nice shots today, as always.
do you know the story behind
"We love you Always Bino 120s!"
?
Figured Bino got killed on 120th Street, but it's only a guess.
Take some pictures around the corner of Jay and Myrtle street. I went to Brooklyn Poly 1960-65.
Haven't been back since. I bet its all changed.
The El was there then. I guess its not there anymore.
I have pictures of the Village in the 60's at

I particularly the third picture from the bottom kind of intriguing from a foreign perspective.
The gates glowing moonlight shadow....sweet!
Mike: I'm producing a documentary on Vito Marcantonio, in Congress 1936-1950. He was very popular because he was really accessible to serve the people of the community on jobs, working conditions, health, landlords, no hot water, etc. There must be old-timers around who knew him. Got any ideas or leads?
