Sunset Park waterfront, Brooklyn (more). There aren't many places left in New York with street-running railroads.

Wow! You really captured the essence of a harsh life with this round. Very sobering. It's hard to imagine any of these scenes having ever seen gentler times. Makes me thankful. Thanks. The appearance of the rasberry tea Snapple is quite interesting, though.

There are some freight train tracks at street level skirting the bklyn/queens border...a train engine went out of control a month or two ago and plowed into some cars on Metropolitan Ave! No one was too badly hurt, though.

I don't think the Bushwick tracks run along the middle of the street, though... correct me if I'm wrong.

aha...thought you meant something else by "street running."

Uau! You really captured the presence of a narsh line with its pound.

That old brick building with the "1892" was the Merchant Marine club during WW2. I think the sailors could sleep there, get a meal, walk up to 8th Ave and go bar hopping. Get sloppy drunk and wake up in a freighter in the middle of the Atlantic days later.

Hey where did you get the first picture from? Where in Sunset park is this located?

I'm researching a Thesis architecture project at the Cooper Union.

The project is based on the Sunset Park area, and
In particular I am also looking to find out about the Bush Terminal Buildings.

Moving Image - old footage of the area would also be invaluable.

I am also concerned with The Brooklyn Army Terminal and Garment Work in the area.
