In the news today: Patriot Act Suppresses News Of Challenge to Patriot Act. It's like we're living in a game of Nomic.
This seems like a good time to join in a coordinated Googlebomb: Republican National Convention RNC Protests
Mike, this is scary stuff. We're having the G8 summit down here in Georgia (at St. Simon's Island) in a few weeks, and the amount of security and protest prevention measures that are planned is huge:

I just made a small contribution to CounterCovention, and will forward this on to a few folks here in Atlanta so they'll be informed of RNC watches and protests in New York City.
My mistake: G8 is a Sea Island, not St. Simon's.
Gee, if it helps to stope people from flying airplanes into buildings, I'm not going to complain. Either we didn't do enough before 9/11 or we are doing too much now. We can't have it both ways.
Mike -- love your eye, love the photos, love the site.
Your politics, however, you should really keep to yourself. Deviating from your usual artistic pursuits into such topical banality cheapens the experience, in my opinion. Art brings us together; politics divide.
I agree. I really enjoy the things you find around town. They're really clever and shot in provocative ways. But the political commentary on this page has no explicit relationship to the photo (unless I'm missing something.) There doesn't seem to be any justification in the picture to launch into a rant about how "upsetting" national security is to you. It seems like something that might be more appropriate on a devoted online diary, or something.
Politics, shmolitics. You were in my hood and didn't even come ring the bell. I'm sad.
Hi Guys !
Paul - did you see the efforts of the Irish government attempting to stop protests happening on May Day here??
Traditionally, there have been anti globalisation protests, but with the joining of 10 new countries to the EU on the same day this year, they were not taking any chances !!! The brought 5000 police to the capital, which is way way in excess of what is normally here.
Afterwards, of course, our prime minister, Bertie, tried to claim all along that he ha no problem with anybody protesting. A different tune to the "tell your people not to come" that he proclaimed before the big day.
What democracy?
Well I don't agree, I think Mike brought up something very important. An artist with a conscience is a good thing.
I have lurked for a while but I felt I should post. Love every thing about the sight. And it is an artists right and responsibility to intergect politics or any other issue whenever he or she feels it apropriate or needed. No one works in a vacumme
