"Willy is back" is hilarious. It hits me on many dimensions at once: the old movie (Tell 'em Willy Boy Is Home), the neighborhood friendliness, and the inevitable stranger's "wow."

For those confused about the kosher gym thing, traditionally Jewish men and women don't mix in 'exposed' enviroments (like a beach, pool, or gym) where they may not be dressed modestly (or for other reasons.)

I am a recent finder of your site and fell instantly in love. Instant as in once the dark rich colors of your 2.25.04 subway shots reached my eye I knew I'd be checking back again.

The closed down white building next to Rabbi Hecht's store was [Frank] Moran's Bar. He was a world famous heavyweight boxer during the late teens early twenties.

Wow... I don't know how the heck I stumbled upon this site, but I adore it. As a former Brooklynite (heck, in my heart I'll ALWAYS be a Brooklyn Girl!) I've really enjoyed perusing sites -- some of which I'm more than familiar with. Rock ON!
