After the photobloggers

03/01/04

Some photos from Thursday night, after the Apple Store photobloggers event.

Guy in restaurant

Push door really hard

I'm looking for a record deal (bathroom graffiti)

Fred, Mr. Rogers, the graffiti king

Trex biting man's head
Soho, Canal Street, and the A train

Two quality sites at Fake is the New Real: mile x mile, photographs of Chicago at one-square-mile boundaries (reminds me of the Degree Confluence Project), and a comparison of thirteen subway systems of the world, presented on the same scale.

There is another great shot of the Fred Rogers Memorial truck on PicPatrol.

Apparently PicPatrol got the Optimism truck too. If he has one of the bathroom door, I'll be really impressed.

I scooped this one way back when, though.

Whoa...that burger eating guy looks like he needs to ease up on the junk food and go on a healthy eating programme. I notice that there was no flash involved in the shot. Was this a 'shoot and run' moment. I wouldn't want him throwing his bun at me.

Etan, thanks for the link to the FRED truck. Another/better shot is here too:

Also, the ESPO optimism truck is more than just an ESPO truck. It's also a ROUTE truck.

I really have no time for competitive photoblogging--that's silly--but if you carry a camera around and live in this city you'll encounter the same things and--as far as graffiti goes--get an instinct as to where to go and where things pop up.

"Competitive photoblogging"? Jack seems to like to set up straw men just to knock them down in the comments on this site.

Mike, to quote you...

"I scooped this one way back when, though."

C'mon, that's not an "I was there first..." comment. Please, Mike. Read what you wrote and tell me where the staw-man was/is.

There are defnitely a lot of photobloggers out there and they often cover similar areas and topics. That's all I was saying.

My deepest apologies for making comments in comments you have made about comments about my work.

Also, thanks for linking to the Ratner/Nets Arena comments. I still stand by all that I wrote.

That said it's a nice and sunny day outside Mike. Please get outside and loosen up a bit.

If you really think I was seriously gloating about finding something first, you need to take things a bit less literally.

This is my last word on this topic. I can't believe it's gone this far.

Fucking Internet.

That last pic, looks like the guy is about to be attacked by a ravenous gray panther.
