On the orange sign, while most of the non-English is Yiddish, the line across from "IT IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN" is in Hebrew, for reasons I don't understand. It says "According to the rulings of the beit din [rabbinical court] which prohibited carrying in our city in Shabbat".
but you'd think if pushing a baby carriage is forbidden, then driving your car out of the garage would also be forbidden...am I missing something?
Maybe the garage is closed that day? What does "um" mean in Yiddish?
