Yes thanks! Ehmmmm... do you know if they ship to Italy? :D

Love that honest (masochists?) dealers such as "Nothing fits!" and "bad apples/sour grapes".

I think the "nothing fits" store is pretty funny. ;-)

Nothing fits has since gone out of business. I always called it Jeans North, where nothing fits. That is from a Frank Zappa song.

To Joe and Tony

My name is Eric. I am Black, African American. I went to Bensonhurst Junior High, and Lafayette HS in the 60's. I lived, at the time in Crown Heights, then we moved to East Flatbush.

When I went to Lafayette, I played football, ran track and played in a several bands. When we moved to East Flatbush, we had to fight the Italians. When I went to school in Bensonhurst, I had to fight the Italians. Each time I was minding my business, bothering no one. I was once jumped in the school yard at PS 200 by the Bath Beach Boys. I was there with the Handball Team, just minding my business. Each time I was jumped, it was never a fair fight. Always about 5-1.

I am now a grown man, 6'1" over 200 lbs. I have been married 24 yrs and have raised 5 kids, none of which have ever been in trouble with the law or anything else. 2 of my kids went to John Dewey High School. I have Italian friends, some of them wise guys, as well as friends of other nationalities. I don't have a problem with Italians or anybody else. Italians, seemed to have a problem with me. All because I am Black.

I have never understood the animousity Italians have with Black people, but I will tell you. I will go anywhere I want to go. I have dated women of many nationalities. Like I said, I am married now, but if I was single, I would date anyone I want including an Italian women if I wanted to and if she would have me.

I still live in Brooklyn and have no desire to live in Bensonhurst, but if I wanted too, I would live there too.

This is America people should be able to live wherever they want to. Many of my people died for that right.

I will go to Bensonhurst, or Gravesend, or Sheepsend Bay or any where else I want to go to when I feel like it, and if anyone dares to step to me, it's on.

Btw, I see plenty of White people, of many nationalities in Black neighborhoods all the time. It goes both ways. Chances are Whites are more welcome in Black neighborhoods than Blacks were in Bensonhurst when I was growing up.

If Italians don't want other nationalities moving into "their" neighborhoods, don't move out. Change only occurs in a vacuum.

In the meantime, we should try to get along.

Eric from Brooklyn
