Over the weekend I finally finished riding the entire New York subway system. It took me six months, but I didn't put all that much effort into it. The last three pieces:

When and if they reopen, I still need to get the Q between Brighton Beach and Coney Island, the F between Avenue X and Coney Island, the B/D between DeKalb and Grand Street, and the connection between the Williamsburg Bridge and the 6th Avenue line. But I figure the City Hall loop and the round-robin track between Rockaway Park and Far Rockaway make up for some of the missing pieces.

i feel, one of the coolest subway platforms
Yeah, it's one of the few stations that makes me feel like I'm somewhere other than New York -- in this case, Paris. Roosevelt Island gives me that feeling, too, and Jamaica-Van Wyck.
Wow. Very impressive! I had a plan back in high school to ride all the trains in alphabetical order, but it just never materialized. Some of the weird trains we've had over the years, like the H, the K, and the JFK, made it a little difficult. At this point, however, it just seems kind of stupid. Seeing all the amazing stations seems like a much better idea!
How long did it take you?
Hey Mike, what type of camera do you use?

couldn't attend the last mob -- the first i missed, alas! -- cause my cousin was celebrating his 40th birthday. looks like it was a lot of fun. keep up the good "work."
What about when they open up new stations? Are you still caught up?
The last new station opened in 1989. I'm not too worried.
If I would have to guess I would say I have completed 400 something miles out of 722. That's not even THAT much of the whole system.
